The Diversity Committee of the Washington Area Legal Recruitment Administrators Association (WALRAA) invites UB Law’s 1Ls to its Eighth Annual 8-Minute Networking Event and Reception on February 23, 2012 from 6:30-9pm. 

This is a unique opportunity for students of diverse backgrounds to meet and mingle with attorneys from prominent law firms and government agencies throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  Participants will develop their networking skills, learn about the rewards and challenges of practicing law, and how to make the most of their law school experience in a casual environment. 

Interested first-year law students must sign up through the LCDO by Friday, February 10th, 2012. Only ten students from UB Law will be able to attend, so register now by emailing jbramble@ubalt.edu. Please attach your legal resume to the email.

Build your resume, hone your writing skills, and get published in the National Law Review!

Submissions are now being accepted for consideration for publication in the March issue of the National Law Review (NLR). The suggested topics are Environmental and Energy, Insurance and Intellectual Property Law, but students are welcome to choose a topic covering current issues related to other areas of the law

The submission deadline is February 21, 2012.

The ABA will host its Forum on Air and Space Law Annual Update Conference on February 17, 2012 in Washington DC.

There will be panel discussions on a variety of timely topics in the field including key legislative developments, aviation safety issues, recent judicial decisions, airline labor relations, and commercial space flight.

A networking reception will conclude the event.
