If you are a 3D or 4E with an interest in a JD alternative federal career, consider applying for the PMF program, a highly competitive, entry-level hiring program for the federal civil service. (With very rare exception, the PMF program will not lead to an attorney position.) A complete description of the program is available at the PMF website.

Please note the following: The PMF application timeline and deadlines have changed from years past.  This year the application period is open from September 15-25, 2011. In addition to the completed application, PMF applicants need to be nominated by the school. If you are seeking a nomination, please set-up an appointment with the school’s nominating official, Astrid Schmidt King, Assistant Dean of Law Career Development, at aschmidt@ubalt.edu by Wednesday, September 14th.

Wednesday, August 24th
12-1pm
Moot Court Room

Many law students are confused by the federal hiring process, and for a good reason, it is confusing.  This presentation is intended to provide a comprehensive overview on how federal agencies hire law students for both internships and entry-level attorney positions, as well as provide strategic advice that results in clear and actionable answers to students’ most common questions.  The federal competitive service will also be discussed as it offers a wide range of interesting and rewarding JD alternative careers.

Bring your own lunch, as well as all of your questions!
